Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Pediatric Gastroenterologist do?
This type of doctor diagnoses and treats problems with the esophagus (feeding tube), stomach, small and large intestines, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder. They also evaluate problems with weight, nutrition, allergies, and other conditions.
What are the visits like?
At the initial visit, the doctor will talk to you about what gastrointestinal problem your child is having, examine the child, and determine what the next steps would be for evaluation and treatment. At a follow up visit, the doctor will talk to you about your child’s progress and determine next steps.
What should I bring with me to an appointment?
When you come for your appointment, please bring a list of your child’s current medications, the completed forms, referral if required, and insurance card. If you have any pertinent information regarding studies (blood work/labs, X-ray, MRI/CT, other) done in the past, please bring. If you do not, please request that the information be sent to our office in advance of your visit.

Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
